Free · No installation · Ready to embed

A folder instead of an installation. On your desk, on the intranet, in SharePoint.

The eInvoice Viewer as an app: a ZIP that you unzip and open with a double click – or that your IT team places on the intranet once and builds into any existing page. The same view as the WordPress plugin, just without WordPress. No server software, no sign-up, no outbound connection, and your invoice never leaves your computer.

Current version: 1.10.0 of 11 October 2026. It shows an invoice the same way as the WordPress plugin 2.33.

Three ways, one package

Download once. Use it wherever your invoices arrive.

Note Note

On your own computer

Unzip and double-click einvoice-viewer.html. The app runs from the hard disk, a USB stick or a network drive – with no installer and no administrator rights.

Tools Tools

On your website or intranet

Put the folder on your web server and build the viewer into an existing page – in TYPO3, in Drupal or in a page you built yourself. One line is enough.

Star-empty Star-empty

In SharePoint

With the Embed web part the viewer sits right on your SharePoint page – where your accounts team already works.

Coming soon: the viewer as a single file. A configurator on invoicePress.de will assemble the viewer for you as one single HTML file, with the language and the data packages you choose – to pass on by e-mail or on a USB stick. For building it into a page, the folder remains the right way.

Embedding

Make the viewer a part of your own page.

Your staff do not have to learn a new program or send an invoice to an outside service. The viewer appears where they already work and reads the invoice in the browser. The folder brings everything with it – data, typefaces and the PDF library – and fetches nothing from outside. That is why it also runs behind the firewall and on computers without internet access.

The quick way: a frame

Put the unzipped folder on a web server and place this one line in your page. Replace the address with your own.

<iframe src="https://intranet.your-company.com/einvoice-viewer/einvoice-viewer.html" style="width:100%;height:900px;border:0"></iframe>

This works in any system that accepts HTML.

The seamless way: the element

For developers: the viewer is an HTML element of its own, <einvoice-viewer>. It sits in your page without a frame, adapts to the width of the column it is in, and is untouched by the styles of your page – just as your page is untouched by its styles. The ready-made sample page examples/embed.html in the package shows every step.

Embedding in SharePoint

  1. Put the unzipped folder on a web server in your organisation that is reachable over https.
  2. Add the Embed web part to the SharePoint page.
  3. Insert the line with the frame and enter the address of your server.

SharePoint only displays content from addresses that are allowed for embedding. Your SharePoint administrator adds the address of your server once in the site settings.

What your IT team will like

  • No outbound connection. The app does not phone home and loads nothing from elsewhere.
  • One file for all settings. config.js sets language, typefaces and data source.
  • Three languages. English, German and French are included.
  • Free licence. GPL 2.0 or later, no licence fees and no counting of users.

What the app shows

Everything the plugin shows.

  • Every field of the invoice

Header, parties, line items, VAT and totals, with the EN 16931 numbers (BT-…) beside each field if you want them.

  • All bank accounts and attachments

If the invoice names several accounts or means of payment, each one is shown. Attachments can be viewed and saved on the spot.

  • Anomalies marked

Amounts that do not add up, missing mandatory fields, a due date before the invoice date or an IBAN with a wrong check digit are marked in red, with a line of explanation below.

  • ZUGFeRD, Factur-X, XRechnung, Peppol

The app reads the PDF with an embedded invoice as well as the plain XML file in CII or UBL, credit notes included.

Who the app is for

For the accounts department that wants to read an incoming XRechnung. For the tax practice opening a client file. For the IT team that wants to hand out a viewer in-house without installing anything. And for everyone whose invoices must not leave the building.

The app is not a validator. It shows what the invoice contains and marks what can be recognised from the invoice itself. Whether an invoice meets all the rules of its specification is for a validator to judge. A PDF without embedded invoice data, such as a scan, cannot be read by the app.

Do you run a WordPress site? Then the free plugin offers the same viewer via a shortcode.

Bring the viewer in-house.

One ZIP, no installer, no cost. The invoice stays on your computer.
