Design the look of your e-invoices without writing code.

With the Layout Studio you assemble an invoice layout from building blocks: addresses, fields, line table, VAT breakdown, totals and columns, plus page, typeface and footer. The preview shows a real invoice the way the Visualizer prints it.

Seven steps lead you from the template to the saved layout, and the studio checks along the way whether the mandatory details of an invoice under § 14 of the German VAT Act are in the layout.

What the Layout Studio does for you

  • Five templates

    You start empty or with Norm, Kontor, Ledger, Leiste or Business Central.

  • Click into the preview

    A click into the preview opens the building block it hits.

  • Fields by name

    You choose fields by their name, such as “Invoice number”; you do not need to know the number of the standard.

  • Arrange freely

    Add, move, duplicate and remove building blocks, also in the cells of columns. Labels in English, German and French.

  • Preview with your invoice

    With an invoice of your own in XML, in English, German or French.

  • Check

    The layout is checked against the layout model and for the mandatory details; you save drafts and export the finished layout as a file.


Who the Layout Studio is for

For operators, agencies and customers who want to adapt the look of printed e-invoices to their own corporate design without writing code.


App and plugin

As an app without a server, as a plugin on your website

The app is a folder that you unpack; you open the file einvoice-layout-studio.html with a double click. It needs no server and loads nothing from the internet.

The WordPress plugin shows the same studio on a page of your website with the shortcode [einvoice_layout_studio]. There you decide who may use the studio and how many drafts someone keeps. Both forms carry the same version number, currently 1.1.0.


What the Layout Studio does not do yet in this version

  • It does not open PDF invoices for the preview, only XML.
  • In this version the Visualizer knows only its own five layouts; an exported layout cannot be used there yet.
