Test e-invoices: valid receipts and their error copies

Do you want to test a validator, a viewer or your invoice import and need e-invoices whose result is known in advance? Here you find 115 valid e-invoices according to EN 16931, and for each of them a copy with one or two deliberately built-in errors.

The valid receipt must pass your check, and the copy must fail at exactly the rules the overview names. That way you see at a glance whether your tool checks correctly. The collection is free and contains no real customer data.

What the collection contains

Doc Doc

66 receipts from KoSIT

From the XRechnung test suite of KoSIT, under the Apache-2.0 license.

Book Book

29 examples of EN 16931

The example invoices of the European standard, under the EUPL-1.2 license.

Pencil Pencil

20 own UBL receipts

Made from invented data, for cases the other sources leave out in UBL: cash discount, two VAT rates, reverse charge, intra-community supply, export, small business, credit note, corrective invoice, self-billing, foreign currency and payment by card.

70 receipts are written in the UBL syntax, 45 in CII. Next to every receipt name.xml lies its error copy name.error.xml. The errors come from a catalog of 24 kinds of error and are handed out in turn, so every kind of error appears several times.

How to work with the test receipts

  • Open the overview

For every receipt the overview lists its special features, the built-in errors with the value before and after, and the rules a validator must report.

  • Download receipt and copy

A click on a file name in the overview downloads the receipt or its error copy.

  • Check with your tool

The valid receipt must pass. The copy must fail, and at exactly the rules named in the overview.

  • View it in the Viewer

Drag the receipt and the copy into the demo of the eInvoice Viewer one after the other and see which values differ. The file never leaves your browser.

Checked with VAMPIRE and the official KoSIT validator

Every receipt was accepted by VAMPIRE PHP and every error copy rejected. A copy only counts when the intended rule actually fires. The official KoSIT validator reached the same result for all 115 receipts and their copies.

Two kinds of error remove the invoice number or the issue date. Without them the file already fails the XML schema, so these copies test the schema stage and carry this one error only.

Each folder keeps the license of its source. Programs find all data of the overview in the file manifest.json.
