Scan the invoice, don’t retype the IBAN

Typing an IBAN from an e-invoice into a banking app is slow and error-prone. eInvoice Viewer — EPC QR Code adds the tab Transfer code to the free eInvoice Viewer. It shows the EPC QR code of the invoice, known at German banks as GiroCode. A banking app reads the payee, IBAN, amount and remittance information from it, and nobody has to type the transfer.

What makes it special

• Built from the invoice data. The code is formed from the payment details the viewer has already read: the account holder (or else the payee or the seller), IBAN and BIC, the amount due, and the remittance information (or else the invoice number). The account holder comes first because banks compare the payee name with the IBAN. What you get: a transfer that matches the invoice, without a typo.
• You see what you pay. Next to the code, the tab lists every value it contains, so you can compare them with your banking app before sending. Above the code, a note reminds you to compare the bank account with the one you know. What you get: a transfer you can check at a glance.
• Clear answers when there is no code. With several bank accounts, you choose the account above the code. The tab appears only when the invoice names a bank account and is not paid by direct debit or card, and it says in one sentence why an invoice gets no code, for example because it is not in euros or nothing is due any more. What you get: no double payments and no guessing.
• The invoice stays with you. The code is created in the browser. The add-on sends nothing to your website or to any outside service, and it stores nothing.

The add-on does not check whether the bank account belongs to the supplier. For that, combine it with the Inbound Check, which reports a new bank account of a known supplier, and the Hybrid Check, which compares the IBAN in the PDF with the IBAN in the XML.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or later and PHP 8.2 or later.
• The free eInvoice Viewer for PEPPOL & EN16931; version 2.38.0 or later for the tab “Transfer code” (older versions show the code via a button next to the invoice).
• In the app: the viewer app 2.37.1 or later instead of WordPress.
• Invoices in euros; the EPC QR code supports euros only.
