An invoice people recognize, from pure data

An XRechnung is a plain XML file, and many colleagues, auditors or customers still expect an invoice they can read, print and file. eInvoice Viewer — Visualizer shows the invoice that is open in the free eInvoice Viewer as a printable document in one of five layouts and offers it as a PDF file.

Five layouts for five purposes

• Kontor / DIN 5008: the German business-letter format with fold marks, for printing and mailing.
• Ledger: an international layout.
• Info bar: a compact layout with the sender details in a colored sidebar.
• Business Central: modeled on the standard invoice of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Norm: follows the arrangement in the annex of the ZUGFeRD specification, a good readable view for an invoice that brings none of its own, such as a plain XML file.

What makes it special

• PDF/A-3 with the original XML inside. The PDF carries the original invoice XML as an attachment, unchanged; it is never rebuilt from the drawn page. What you get: a document for people and the data for software, in one file.
• Right inside the viewer. From viewer 2.38.0, the chosen layout opens in the tab “Layout” with its own “Print” button, next to the invoice and its XML. What you get: no extra windows, and the invoice stays in view.
• In the language of your page. All five layouts appear in German, English or French, and units, countries and tax categories show readable names.
• Nothing leaves your server. The plugin creates the PDF on your own server, with no outside service.

What’s included

• The WordPress plugin as a ZIP file, with a manual in German and English. The PDF library mPDF is bundled.
• The add-on for the viewer app is a separate download.

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or later and PHP 8.2 or later.
• The free eInvoice Viewer for PEPPOL & EN16931, installed and active; version 2.38.0 or later for the tab “Layout”.
• In the app: the viewer app instead of WordPress.
